Vaishali: Vaishali was unrivaled of the Oldest republics in the world (6th century BC).It was here that Buddha preached his last sermon. Vaishali, birthplace of Lord Mahavira is also Sacred to Jains.

Patna: Patna once called Patliputra the capital of Bihar, is among the world's oldest capital cities with unbroken history of many centuries as imperial metropolis of the Mauryas and Guptas imperial dynasties.

Rajgir: Rajgir,19 kms from Nalanda, was the old capital of Magadha Empire. Lord Buddha often visited the monastery here to think over and to advocate. Rajgir is also a place divine to the Jains, Since Lord Mahavira spent many years here.

Pawapuri: In Pawapuri, or Apapuri, 38 kilometres from Rajgir and 90 kilometers from Patna, all sins end for a devout Jain. Lord Mahavira, the last tirthankar and founding father of Jainism, passed off at this site.

Bodhgaya: Near the City of God of Gaya, the Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment. The tree that had sheltered him came to be known as the Bodhi tree and the place Bodhgaya. Nowadays Bodhgaya, an crucial pose of pilgrimage, has a list of monasteries, some of them built by Buddhists of Japan, Kingdom of Thailand, Burma, Sri Lanka etc.

Kesaria: Two miles to the south standPatna at one time called Patliputra the capital of Bihar,is amongst the world's oldest capital cities with unbroken chronicle of several centuries as majestic urban centre.

Two miles to the south stands an eminent brick mount copped by a slid brick tower of respectable size which itself is remains of a Buddhistic stupa. The mound itself is a ruined perimeter at is base, while the stupa which is in runins, diameter of 68 feet at its base and a total altitude of 5½ ft primitively it was crowned by elevation which must have stood 80 or 90 ft above the ground. General Cunningham was of opinion that it does back to AD 200 to 700, and that it was built upon the ruins of a much older and larger stupa.

Kushinagar: 53 km westernmost of Gorakhpur.Kushinagar is where the Lord Gautama passed off his last and attained mahaparinirvana. Their are ruinings here of many stupas as well as the chaityas and viharas that wehe built up in latter times.

Muzaffarpur: 35 km from Vaishali.Muzaffarpur the "leechee land", is one of the great towns of North Bihar, a short length from other common holiday making spots of Hazipur and Sonepur.Today Muzaffarpur is celebrated for its exotic fruit "leechee".

The best way to get to Bihar is by air or rail. It’s connected by most cities by nearly all good domestic airlines. Bodh Gaya has recently built an airport and is connected mainly from Delhi.

Bihar has a good network of railway line connecting to and from every corner of the country. It’s comparatively cheaper and if you like the countryside we advocate train the best mode of transport to get to Patna. Its also the most enjoyable and is the best way to discover India.
