Dr. Ashok Pathak,living in UK for 30 years, has set an example for other likewise in his profession serving in UK.He has been appointed a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's New Year's Honours List recently for his outstanding contribution to medicine in Yorkshire and India.

Not only this bihar-born doctor is managing  a non-profit Jagjiwan tuberculosis hospital built by his late father, Dr Munishwar Pathak, near Dehri-On-Sone, but he also led a team of BBC during floods in 2008 highlighting the poor state of affairs, that proved immensely effective in raising fund for the cause in UK. Numerous medical facilities have been extended to the community through various medical camps organised by him. 

Dr Pathak said, "I am extremely proud to be a Bihari and would consider it my honour to contribute in whatever small way I can to my state. I feel immense affection for the people of my state, which I visit at least thrice a year." 

I, on behalf of Youbihar members,would like to convey my best wishes for Dr. Ashok Pathak, and would wish to have more such son of soil. He, in true sense has contributed back to the society.Hope NRI(NRB) YB'ian, serving foreign land take a leaf of wisdom out of this man's dedication towards his motherland.Cause of Bihar's development needs more action less words.
