Hi Navin, thank you for deciding to be my friend.  I am so happy.  Happy new year 2011 to you and family.  May God bless you all.  You live in MUZAFFARPUR district.  As I told you, I am a Mauritian. You know the paternal grandfather of my maternal grandfather was from district of MUZUFFERPORE, Bihar.  He arrived in Mauritius on 14 Novenber 1865 byship/vessel Moharannee to work as labourer in sugarcane fields.  Port of embarkation:  Culcutta.  He was 34y.o and was son of Rosun.  According to records available at Indian Immigation Musuem (Archives Section) he was from:  Village:  Bhoskore,  Zillah: Muzufferpore, and pergunnah: Sarusa.  He died at Bon Espoir Estate, Mauritius on 17 Nov 1901.  Navin, does that village and sub-district make sense to you?  I am aware that the Muzufferpore district of 1865 is different now, other districts have been created out of it, villages have changed name, etc.  Anyway, Navin, I am so..so happy to know you and also glad to know you are from (or near) such distrct that one of my ancestors was from about 145 years ago.  This is part of my history and family root.so, Bihar is part of my history, even though I have never been there.  I have read some years ago a book in French (written by a Mauritian) which stated that"un peuple sans la connaissanse de son histoire, de ses origins et de sa culture est comme un arbre sans racines" (transaltion in English: a people without knowledge of his history, of his origin and his culture is like a tree without roots).
