Cheka : Surrounding of the group and getting them ready for the engagement.
Shagun : The priest and other family members takes gifts such as sweets for the grooms family.
Tilak : The groom and family receives several gifts and a pooja is held at the grooms home.Lagan Mahurat : Start of marriage rituals.
Haldi: Married ladies of the house do rituals and apply haldi on the groom and girl in their respective homes.
Madva Bandhana : The wedding pandal or mandap is constructed for the actual ceremony.
Shaadi Ka Din : Arrival of the groom's procession or baraat. Ghidhari : Ancestor worship and blessing.
Kumarpet Ka Bhaath : A special meal prepared for the bride and her unmarried female friends.
Darwaza Lagna : The baraat that includes the groom, his relatives and friends arrives at the brides home.
Jaimaala : The couple places garlands on each other. A customary since olden days.
Kanyadaan : This is process of the father giving away the daughter. Sometimes a relative can also do the process.
Shaadi Ki Rasm : The priest initiates the wedding mantras.
Lava Chidakna and the fire : The couple tied together goes round the sacred fire 7 times.
Sindoor Lagana : The groom applies vermilion on the bride.
Kaccha Khana : A simple meal is prepared for the baraatis on the marwa/mandap Bidaai.
Ki Rasm : Bridal leaves her parents home to settle with her husband.
