Bihar Hotels

Hotels in Bihar

The state of Bihar is an excellent tourist place. From the Buddhist and Jaina circuits to Patna Sahib and not to mention its historical importance; the state of Bihar caters for everyone. Today if you visit Patna airport, you should not be surprised to see many foreign tourists.

There are numerous Hotels in Patna from the 5 star Maurya to other budget hotels to cater for all needs. The hotel Maurya is Bihar’s number 1 hotel as far as expense is concerned. It does provide excellent service on a personal and a business level. The Maurya is located at only about half an hour drive from the Patna airport and about 15 minutes from the railway station. The staffs are courteous and almost all of them speak English. The food is a delight not only for the guests but also locals. In addition, the hotel has a business centre with 3 conference centres. The hotels will organise trips outside Patna such as the most famous of Bihar tourist’s places including Nalanda, Bodh Gaya and Patna Sahib.

There are several good hotels in Bihar that are government run and some are affiliated with Tibetan or country specific Buddhist group.

Hi Mohit...I know I am too late for commenting on Inderjeet's need to locate a good hotel in Chhapra....but it may help people visiting Chhapra in future. Apart from hotels named by Mohit, I think a name which is worth mentioning is Hotel Midtown ( At Municipal Chowk). I had a very good experience during my first and subsequent stay at Midtown. The cleanliness is exceptional and staffs are well mannered. The AC is extremely good with 24 Hr power back up. The ambience is too good to be believed at such nominal rate in town of Chhapra. I rate it best in the town.

It is good Nitish Ji time and again reminds the central Govt. about neglect of Bihar and denying the Bihar its due share. The question is that is it the duty of only Nitish ji? Or the Ordinory people of Bihar, Bihari Inteligentia, students and professionals should also play their role in pressing legitimate demand and also agitate against the gross discrimination being done to Bihar. I think it is now right time to debate the issue. I invite all the members to participate in the debate.

Unfortunately I have never been to Chapra but you can go and ask the Bihar Tourist Department in Kautilya Vihar in Patna. They should direct you to some hotels there. But Chapra is not regularly visited place by tourists but there should be some hotels there.

Once a gora sahib attended an Indian function in the evening with variety of spicy cuisine. Next morning he was full of astonishment why the hell Indians use water in the morning!!

Sarcasm is fine but restraint must be observed while giving words to it, else the talk goes astray like in this case.
What to say and how to say, this discretion does not come free with money. It takes generations together. Meri baat samajh mein nahin aayegi. There is a saying I have grownup hearing:

Maaye mari khalihaan batorat,
Baap gire gadh sidhi se,
Maharaaj kahun kaii pidhi se!

Let’s raise a toast for tissue paper. We will think of bread later.

A Union Jack is too week to unite as many existence and identities as a Tiranga can. Tricolor never complaints.

Agree with the observation on loss of respect for teachers. Somewhere, the teaching community is also responsible for it.

Every one is privy to his own contribution. No one cares if somebody writes or not.

Tissue paper idea is created by west not for hygienic purpose but due to necessity and demand of time, as everyone knows that west is cold climate and temperature goes in minus degree where water is forzen so how can they use water? So when paper was not invented they were using soft wood or wood leave or wood fiber stored in their house but when they came to know about paper they felt it quite good and soft as there is no chance of scratch or bleeding,

@Bikram yadav ji, one can use rubber gloves for protection as there is always a danger of HIV now a days here dr. kumar is right and everyone knows that HIV is dangerous than death.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Comment by Dr. Ajay Kumar on September 28, 2010 at 3:48pm
Hi everybody !

Just woken up and how nice to read all these comments. It is interesting to interact with "Young Bihar", what is their thought process in 2010 compared to 60s. On the whole, it is interesting, fairly mature and just like as it used to be in our younger days.

@ Mr. Giri :- Using toilet paper instead of hands and finger is nothing to do with Western culture. It is pure medical and hygiene issue. As a doctor, I am in a better position to explain its benefits. Many a parasites that afflicts over 90% of our people in Bihar, are called Hookworm, Roundworms, Threadworms, Giardia etc. They live in intestine, their eggs are passed into faeces. They get embaded in our hands, especially under finger nails. The way we wash our hands after coming out of toilet, does not remove the eggs from the hand. We eat with our fingers and so these eggs get into our stomach. There they begin their life cycle, causing anaemia and other effects. Using a tissue paper avoid fingers to come in contact with faeces. Even Chinese understood this in ancient time and ate their food using chopstick, thus preventing diseases. Medically speaking, one can nevermake hands and fingers free from germs, no matter how much one scrubs. See, it is for own personal safety that it is better to use a tissue paper.

@ Mohit :- Thanks for thread to Times of India about Bihari doctors. Speaking for myself, I am not aware that such feeling exists between Bihari and non-Bihari doctors in Britain, I personally have never come across any situation like that. I had many doctors and their families registered as patients in my practice, not only from different parts of India but different parts of the world. Here in Britain, we are all equal, same, a human being. It may be in India, I learn from my nephew working in Bombay is terrified of saying he is from Bihar. IF PEOPLE CARRY INDIAN PASSPORT, SALUTE INDIAN FLAG, STAND UP WHEN INDIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM IS PLAYED, THEN WHY DON'T THEY CALL THEMSELVES INDIAN ? WHY THEY IDENTIFY AS BIHARI, PUNJABI, KASHMIRI, GUJRATI OR MARATHI ?

I too visited my alma matar recently. It was an emotional shock to see the deterioration compared to 60s. Then, our teachers arrived at 8.30 AM and taught us until 1-2 PM. Then again they came at 6 PM and left at 8 .30 PM. In between, they did private practice. Does it happens today ? Respect for teachers was so extreme that their parked cars were saluted, doesn't matter if they were sitting in their offices or giving lectures.

Please refrain from using comments like pig and so on. Educated, intelligent people do not use such language. Thanks.

MS. Shalu Sharma :- Arrogance ? What arrogance ? Who is being arrogance ? I for one see no one is arrogant here. Thanks anyway for your input, which I must say is not arrogant. lol....lol

Dear Friends, I went through all comments given by Dr.Ajay Kumar, I found them very experiencing, encouraging, motivating, immotional, thoughtful and lesson taker. I am agree with Dr.Kumar on all his comments. I did not feel at all any word related to humiliation to Bihari pride or Biharis. I am proud that Dr.Kumar belongs to Bihar and has greater level of feeling for Bihar. He surely want to see Bihar a developed state or most developed state. We need to put ourselves on the path of faster progress and development. Jai Bihar ! Jai Hind.
Shalu Sharma Comment by Shalu Sharma on September 28, 2010 at 1:44pm
Sonal, could you be more specific, which comments?
Rajesh K.Pathak Comment by Rajesh K.Pathak on September 28, 2010 at 12:56pm
@Sonal ji, be brave, you have long way to go, there will be lots of negative or positive thoughts hovering around u, this is time to understand and learn, 'do not worry about prove' meaning is important if u understand it, if 'the' is missing will not change the meaning, best of luck. Thanks with regards.
