I have been away from India since last year and see a very similar human approach in the Indians here, that is segregation amongst the supposedly more like minded but actually like linguistic and like regions etc whatever. Generally the ones from Bihar and may be UP get "minoritized" amongst the minority Indians. I live alone (by choice) in an apartment and spend my time from Friday evening to Monday morning in my room, alone. I really don't have any intention to waste your time by reading my personal life story but the point is to let you appreciate that how such small things, coupled with the social diffraction leads to another opportunities and strengthening of the bonds with Motherland. I know each one of us understand that as well as I do. So that's it.
Next. The fact that we see Bihar to India is the same as India is to the World. Both had their golden past in terms of Culture as well as education and through periods, have struggled against odds imposed due to what ever reasons have occurred. I guess without going into the details and implications, it would be worth to highlighten couple of things here. Riches bring ignorance, pseudo-superiority complexes, lack of self thinking and selfishness and much more. The irony is that over a time period, the term Riches coverts to area, culture and language and the whole system gets gelled in a self worn net. I believe, the basic Bihari spirit is yet to be touched by these maligning colors. Yes, Biharis do have this image of being the most true and selfless friends/humans for those who have interacted. They know it in their heart even if its not in paper or sound, which is actually good. It suits the Indian/Hindu way of thinking and living !!
Next on the road comes Hope! Yes. The hope of retrieval. The more I understand the more universal it seems. The Samay Chakra! Again averting over discussion and over writing, I would emphasize that Bihar of Y'years is Bihar of Today largely due to immigrants around 14-15th century, when people from Northern parts thronged the region due to the continuing attacks on western borders. That lead to the poverty, as a huge population had nothing to feed and were forced to live in probably undesirable parts with nothing in possession. The good point, they brought all the nuances with them. If you see the diversity in language and culture and whatever, probably you will find a much swifter gradient across the land in Bihar. That's it. Probably the blueprint of events in past in someway.
I don't want to make this mail too long that others would be afraid to read, in a genuine fear of sucking too much of their/our time. But just want to say, It's nice to know things around and let others know of it, but probably as someone having some know how, it's a great feeling to appreciate the past and being hopeful of future. Remember, times come and go, the DNA remains and so does the intellectual ability. Let's keep trying and be refreshed with self thinking avoiding the plasticity that has engulfed the so called more "civilized/westernized" society. It's probably good to be behind in some areas, in a way.
All of us believe in our respective self abilities and have every reason to be positive. Each and every negative has a positive incursion and vice versa. I believe, if God acts per logic, Indians and Biharis will be better off in the end.
Jai Hind!
