Our cricketer Yuvraj Singh is being treated for lung cancer in USA. We the people pray to God for his good health. You are a hero. I wish you best of wishes and speedy recovery.
But everyone has jumped to help him. The Sahara group will pay his fees for Pune Warriors even though he wont be playing. The Government of India has said it will pay for his treatment. The BCCI has already committed to support Yuvraj financially which is good.
But I cannot see the point of government financial support to him. He is to rich from IPL and advertisements; he does not need any help. What about the millions of cancer patients in the country. Who is going to help them?
There are thousands of more deserving cases even among sportsmen needing help. Why this benevolence for Cricketers only? Is this Govt is "of the rich people, by the rich people and for the rich people". On the one hand is the poor little Rajbala, who died in police attack in Ramlila Maidain.

Permalink Reply by R Singh on February 6, 2012 at 2:30pm Go Regional Cancer Center there you will see hundreds of people sitting on pavements for not having money to do a PET scan which will cost 20 thousand. Govt. health policy is only to those who are successful and powerful 1% of the population.
Permalink Reply by Shalu Sharma on February 6, 2012 at 5:20pm Wish him all the best and quick recovery. He's one of our best players. This should not be a surprise. There are millions who die of inadequate health care in India. Those who are rich and powerful will get further help from all quarters. The government should address the health of the nation particularly the poor and the vulnerable.
Permalink Reply by R Singh on February 6, 2012 at 10:04pm Thanks to all the drinking, parties, IPL parties, girls, smoking, & other things has led to this problem. There are hundres & thousands of people suffering & dying in India due to no drinking water, lack of medical facilities, poverty, corruption, lack of sanitation and Govt. turning blind eye to this.
