We Biharis should look at our actions sometimes. We eat pan and gutkha and then spit on the road, we honk the horn like crazy even when the car in front of us is driving in good speed. We honk even louder instead of slowing down when we see an old man crossing the streets. We start to cross the road in the middle of oncoming traffic. We try to cut the queue and reach the ticket counter even though there are other people waiting for their turn. At functions, we fill our plates up to the brim like there is no tomorrow and even leave half of it oblivious of the fact that some guests might not even get anything, and also knowing that some poor Bihari children will be going to sleep with empty stomach.
Oh this one is good, why do Bihari men stare at girls. How many of us smile to our neighbours (whom we dont know personally)? How many of us say thankyou to the guy at the petrol pump or who cleans the toilet or to the waiter who serves us?
Yeah I know people blame it on population and stuff, but come on you can still be nice. This is not a population problem, this who we are as Biharis are. Why we Biharis like this.
Permalink Reply by Rachna Gupta on March 4, 2012 at 2:55am I have only been here a very short while, but I am getting to know Bihari people in Bihar. It is not a nice picture. I agree that the heading of this topic is very accurate.
Rohini Di, I completely agree with you and your views.
Permalink Reply by Rohini on March 4, 2012 at 3:13am No. Bihar is a shadow of itself trying to make it. But it will be a transformation from caterpillar to butterfly …. in next few years the butterfly will start flying and shining and world will watch with awe and wonder and some will wonder and ponder. We will again be be proud to be Bihari.
Permalink Reply by Rohini on March 4, 2012 at 3:50am The only joke is you. no wonder biharis are being beaten up and ridiculed every day all over India. Jo karte tho seena thok ke karte hai - jub maar khate hai tho haath jor ke maar kahate hai. lack of shame has been the downfall of bihar.
let the jokes continue.

Sir, the content of your post, the very language you have used typifies what is wrong with we native Biharis. This is not a language used in a civilisrd society by civilised people. Tone down, stop using words like FUCK, ARSE, etc. Be modest, unassuming, humble and above all show respect to females. Use polite words, use language you can express yourself better. Hope I make myself clear. But if you continue like this, well, then wh look elsewhere to see the typical Bihari Rohini madam is highlighting ?
Hope you don't mind me saying so.

Permalink Reply by Shalu Sharma on March 5, 2012 at 5:33pm I agree with you Munna ji. There are no excuses for insulting females members. But the fault lies in ourselves. Living in an extremely backward and male dominated society, female empowerment is seen something of a "thorn in the eye" for some. That is why female empowerment is of vital importance. Till then women of not just Bihar but whole of India has to endure such discrimination and bad behaviour.
Permalink Reply by Shalu Sharma on March 5, 2012 at 5:36pm Sir, if you have not stayed in Bihar, then most would ask the same question "what have you done for Bihar?" May I ask where you learnt such lovely words, was it in Delhi?

Madam Rohini ji, I feel I am in a position to answer better.
Until I was in Bihar (read India too) I had a sense of complex. Neither superior nor inferior. It was in between, So when I met someone better, I tried to belittle him / her. When I met not so good, I put him / her down. I felt that they all think I am a Bihari "Buddhu" and "Baklol".
All this began to changed when I arrived in Qatar to work in a firm of accountants. After 2 years, I had saved enough to go to USA and enroll for MA degree in Brown University, New York. That 3 years in US was not only an eye opener but also Brain opener too. I became a changed man of 21st century. First, like all NRI / NRB I too developed hate fo Bihar and Bihari. But cool head and imbibed Western education prevailed. I saw the truth. I developed great compassion for my state and Bihari people. That is one reason I came back to Khagaul.
Reason is, Biharis live in Bihar are like that Frog which was born in and grew up inside a well. He never knew of the world outside. He developed his own culture, habit and if someone from outside happen to interact, the "Koop Mandoop" frog spoke and behaved strangely. In order to show their superiority, they behave strangely and talk gibberish, ( see post of Neeraj Bihari and his attempt to grab money from Dakter Saheb)
I have been ambitious, lucky and if I can change, then why not others ?
What I am trying to say is be polite, use civilised language and show courtesy to all, unless provoked to the breaking point.

Permalink Reply by Ram Prakash on March 5, 2012 at 7:20pm People should not use derty language. it is not right...gives bad impression to the outside world. we are who we are but we should attempt to improve our sleves. I like to say to my bihari friends that I will not spit anywhere but only on selected spots. howz that for a change....
Unreformed Biharis, who are considered uncultured, dim wit, constipated, foul smelling breath, shout instead of speaking, are called Latkhori Lal outside Bihar. For the simple reason that they only understand the language of Laat - Jutaa.
Spit in spitton. But make sure the aim is perfect. Bihari log "Kahin pe nigaahe aur kahin pe nishaana " lagaate hai.
