Inter Caste Marriage Query

Dear Friends, I am a guy belonging to the Kurmi caste who is in love with a girl belonging to Bhumihar caste. We have been in this relationship for a long time and recently decided to get married and expressed this desire to both our parents. While after a little hesitation my parents agreed but her parents and family are not agreeing at all. While I tried to be reasonable with them and tried to talk with them to come to favorable result, her brother is now threatening to kill us both if we get married. Moreover, her father is threatening to commit suicide if we marry.

My upbringing has been such that I have been never been aware of the caste friction between these two communities. Its only recently that I have started reading up on it and discovering how bad the scenario had been between these two castes. I don't want either of the families to get hurt due to our love but I also want to marry her as I don't envision a life without her.

I would be grateful if members can give me some suggestions on how to handle this situation.

I have a feeling these two have chickened out. So much for their professed love for each other, IT IS GOOD THAT THEY DID IT NOW RATHER THAN PARTING WAYS AFTER MARRIAGE. Now who will trust such a coward man ?

If he has than that is good. Life on not one item song that you will go sing to your lover. We are not living in the west. This is India and we dont fall in love.

Just to say you are living in Bihar so you live in under the rules & mindset of there people.If you are living in jungle then you wil have to follow the rules of animals simply otherwise jungle animals will killor eat you simple.Girls of there dont live in west but they cant be upgrade or more natural.Well brothers dont be hurry in choosing your life partner or love buddy in another caste.If we take religious issues then it is such a sensitive case why bcz other relgion proves u completely wrong and dont permit you to exchange the race but when matter comes with same religion marriages it shows conservatism of people.People write several times on intercast issues but dont dare to marry.
