Anyways...
- IITs are best in India... And without any doubt, a majority of the IIT grads are comparable to the grads from top Ivy League Schools in US. In short, most of them are indeed world class :-)
- Reservation is an endless debate in our country. Study well... Aim for the best... If you've it in you, you'll definitely reach there or somewhere near by :-)

Permalink Reply by Sumit Ranjan on November 13, 2011 at 6:01am While my heart cries for every poor brother and sister in my country and I think we have to do a lot in giving them equal opportunity to excel, I don't think reservations on the basis of "caste, creed, religion" is the best way to do it. I would be rather happy seeing the government encourage students from all communities who are poor by giving them free books, scholarships and reduced fees. Even if there has to be a reservation system, why not implement it on the basis of "economic backwardness" rather than on the basis of caste or religion. Anyways, I think the government has announced some hope by promising to help the poor students from the so called "forward class".
I hate this whole caste system.. how great it would be if all of us could abolish it and just call ourselves "Indians".... but i guess its just going to be that.. one wish that may never be fulfilled...
Permalink Reply by Rajesh K.Pathak on November 13, 2011 at 12:59pm Priest never led the society or nation like king, they only tender service to society,Initially when caste system prevailed in society that time education was not tool to earn money, education was limited to some section of society coz it was not for earning money but to just tender religious, social & political services, e.g. marriage, death, birth, politics, war, health but all these services were almost free, a highly qualified brahmin was not rich but just popular coz of his social services free of cost or at very minimum cost like 1 ser rice, pulse or one jodi of khadawu, one jodi of dhoti etc. These religious education was supposed tobe with brahmin as their mantras or pathh to GOD supposed tobe in clean environment e.g.a place cleaned with water, gaiy ka gobar and gangajal or temple. That time all people had to wear dhoti, Khadawu in summer or rainy season and kambl in winter not like today's materialistic protective clothing which come with heavy price and to get those material one need to have good amount of money but those days, people were building their house with mud & fush/bush(easily available), wearing cloths only dhoti and khadawu(easily available) made of cotton, sheep wool and wood, eating whole or just crushed meal, grains were available cheaply and crushing stone was available plenty, seasonal fruits wich was easily available in jungle, so what was great that time? King was almighty coz they had to protect lives, grains, domestic animals, health from natural calamities or other enemy, unity was mantra to keep people together to fight against those and due to this caste came into existing dividing responsibilities to each and everyone in the society to take care the people and need of state. Priest led the nation or state or kingdom when Raja/King failed to tender his 'RAJDHARMA'! otherwise mainly Kshatriya were bestowed with rule the kingdom. Reservation policy based on caste, creed or religion can not be justified by govt. by imparing the image of so called forward class or seeeding the enemity amongst various caste and class just to garner their votes.

Permalink Reply by Aman on November 13, 2011 at 3:31pm Gaurav Bhaia Story always starts with “ Once there lived a poor Brahmin…..” There is no story in whole India which starts with “ once there lived a rich & cunning Brahmin….’. According to them lower caste people are rich, cunning, castist and racist. You will find a lot of people in this site spitting venom against lower caste. There is no one to stop them , there is no one to delete their bloody poisonous comments but the biggest problem is always lower caste people. I can’t understand why these lower caste people are still in favor of god and goddesses and facing humiliation from last 10000 years. If this type of humiliations does not stop they should think of conversion and ask for separate homeland. “Hindustan kise ke baap ke nahi hai”.

I am ready to open both eyes of individuals.
Permalink Reply by Rajesh K.Pathak on November 13, 2011 at 4:31pm After independence of India, It is govt of India which has been advertising and promoting the wrong decisions made on reservation based on caste, creed, religion by top political leaders educated in west through newspapers, editorial articles, Various TV serials, Taxfree films in various languages, internet, text books; making everyone believe that really some sections of society had to undergo the tortures by so clled upper class people, it was just done to take majority into confidence to get the votes fetched. Still the reservation is key issue in the determing the candidature of any politicial party. This is total corruption nothing but absolute corruption by political class to remian in power by hook or crook. We have to wipe out reservtion based on caste, creed, religion or community then only we can think of healthy and harmonious society otherwise everyone will fight against each other.
Permalink Reply by Sumit Ranjan on November 13, 2011 at 4:51pm I am so saddened to see this big divide within our communities... Part of the problem is to be blamed on the governance system and partly on us as well. The constitution of India was written by one of the greatest sons of this country Mr. Ambedkar who was himself from the so called "backward class" and I have the highest regards for him just like I have for Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Nehru.
However, I think there are some basic flaws which have created this big divide within the society in the last 64 years since independence.
On one side, Article 14 of the Constitution reads -
“The state shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India" which means all citizens are to be treated "EQUAL" and the state has nothing to do with what religious or social practices a citizen practices. Great..
But, again, the same constitution through various clauses of Article 16 suggested that the State can "chose to classify" its citizens into different classes based on economic or social backwarness to provide them with opportunities.
I am not qualified enough to comment on this, but, in my view every single government has used these "reservations" just as an eyewash and not in the true sense to serve the people. I consider myself and "Indian" and every other citizen of my country is an "Indian" to me regardless of their caste, religion or social economic status.
Let us strive and refuse to "be divided" by any barriers.. there is a lot of work to be done and we can only do it if we are united..

Permalink Reply by Sumit Ranjan on November 13, 2011 at 5:29pm !00% agree to your views. The problem exists that a large section of our society donot know their rights and don't have the education to prosper and have a "level play" and are weak economically. But, all I am saying is don't do the classification of this society by means of religion or caste. Do it by economic backwardness. So, say if a person earns < 1 lakh per annum, all his children get free education, scholarships, books, monthly benefits etc. to give them the same facilities a rich kid enjoys.. track the progress of these kids through local councils..
Would that not be a better solution for a more inlcusive "India" ?
