Is this ‘Global Summit on Changing Bihar’ at the ‘Sri Krishna Memorial Hall’ this weekend just a showcase for Bihar as a growing state? Experts are saying that what Bihar has to do more in order to attract the investment. There have been some improvements in the aesthetics and infrastructure of our capital city Patna which is important because it serves as the gateway to our state. But the bigger issues are the availability of land and electricity to set up Industries. First and foremost investment we require is in setting up Electric Power Generation Units and Power Plants. Other problem will be to make available the land to set up industrial units. We can’t use our agricultural (that grows food grains) to set up the factories as that would be disastrous.
Congress is saying that this is a big joke. The major reason for the bad progress of Bihar is Laaloo who was being supported wholeheartedly by Congress. What Nitish is doing is an honest attempt to develop Bihar. If congress could not support him at least they should refrain from commenting on him. What do you think?

Permalink Reply by R Singh on February 21, 2012 at 11:09pm Nothing wrong with organising things which may result in investments to a State which has long been ignored and made backward by the so called experienced politicians of the corrupt party called Congress. Good for Bihar. Keep up the good work. Only the Congress Party and the bought off media are jealous.
If Bihar was untouchable for private sctor then Nestle , Kinfisher , Buirla and Bimora would not have come to Bihar . No thermal power plant can come up until Coal linkage is provided to it Centre has not provided coal Linkage to anjy power plant in Bihar . Hope the Hydel power plants comming up in Nepal (DPR's to be ready in by next yaer feb as promised by Nepal PM ) help bihar .
Roads are far far better than many states
Education and Health care changes are being made and hopefully we should see the impact in afew years . 40 Years of misrule cant be washed away in 7 years . People who are impatient should ask themselvs why they voted for Laloo and Jaganath Mishra for so long .

Is really Bihar changing? State is not generating electricity, big cities are still darken, poor roads, hospitals are still unhealthy, 50% govt. posts is vacant, transport system is not working & what about Education The most important thing is that Bihar is still untouchable for Pvt. sector. But Nitish & Modi due are very happy, because they are enjoying power. May be Congress leaders are illiterate and hence uninfomed. But what about the aam aadmi who traveled Delhi, Gujrat, South India and see real development. कब तक बालू के ढेर पर खड़े होकर हम आसमान को छूने की कोशिश करेंगे... पटना, दिल्ली, लखनऊ, मुंबई, से बहुत पीछे रह गया है...
R Singh said:Congress leaders are illiterate and hence uninfomed. Bihar is a global subject, CNN, BBC make documentarty on it. Repute magazine Economist has a special story on it. Congress should send their leaders to school.
))(( THE FARCE OF BIHAR GLOBAL MEET ))((
I attended this meet on second day. And soon it was evident that the entire show is nothing but a farce, an eye wash and a great dhokhabaazi with the people of Bihar. I was surprised to see a few Baraa and some Chhotaa Babu from Old Secretariate whom I know. I was told that all Kiraanis have been given leave to attend this meet to learn about development, but more to fill the seat and make the hall look full.
Then Prof. Nawal Kishore Choudhary of Patna University rose from audience and asked why 50% of all government posts are not filled ? Why poverty is still same as it was when Nitish came to power 7 years ago. And what drew clapping to the embarrassment of Sushil Modi, sitting on the dias, was his disclosure that FCCI has said that not a Paisa of investment has come to Bihar in last 3 years. An activist Sri Arvind ji asked why Kanti and Barauni power plant are sitting idle producing no electricity. Why schools and hospitals are without full quota of teachers and doctors ? Why district and subdivisional hospital buildings are in dilapidated condition. ssiThen a member of Planning Commission, I forget his name, revealed that Nitish has not reduced poverty in Bihar. It is same as it was in 2000.
Modi ji sat stunned and quiet. Audience clapped and cheered.
Nitish has spent 4 crores Rupees on this meet. Both deshi and videshi guest got free air ticket, free boarding and lodging in posh Patna hotels, daaru - paani included. And what did they do ? They said all things that Nitish - Modi combine wanted to hear. What do you expect them to say after free 5 star treatment ?
And as usual, we all heared that Center is responsible for our Bihar's ill. Sounds familiar ? I think so. Laalu also used to say that.
Now just think, unless you are a jaat bhai or a fan of our Mukhya Mantri ji. How many School, district hospital's dilapidated buildings would have been renovated in this chaar - paanch Crore Rupaiaah ? But no, the whole show was stage managed to fool the foolish, dolt and moorkh Biharis who are condemend to live in Bihar because they are of low intelligence, labour class type.
Permalink Reply by Rohini on February 23, 2012 at 2:09am munna lala you are so negative sometimes but i think you have a point. I aint seen no freakin development ever in bihar. allright perhaps some good roads mind you but you need more than that to woo investors. although nitish kumar has brought some security and thankful for him. I remember Laloo days it was sooo bad as hell. kidnapping, murder and dacoity was the norm. I say present days have less crime good. but development should also come hand to hand a bit more than what is on at the moment. we all cant expect laloo or any other to come and rule bihar. so I suppose we have to stick with him and hope he will deliver. see ya.
Madam, it is not a negative sentiment. Like you I too am Western educated and have lived a few years in US during MA course. I learnt to be objective and got Bihar out of me. So I see around here with critical appraisal and write what is fact. I don't get brainwashed. Biharis have been brainwashed by NDA government. It is not just me saying. I am an economist. There are lots of people saying so.
If by the end of 2nd term of Nitish ji things are same in Bihar then I will consider moving to Banglore to live and sell my jaidaad in Khagaul.
Permalink Reply by Rohini on February 24, 2012 at 2:08am We have to be postitive on things. you have a point but either take it or leave it. do you have alternative to nitish kumar.
