Fiesty Uthup Gets Her Due At Last

Usha Uthup is an incredible and versatile singer. I have literally grown-up listening to her feisty and energetic songs which are so full of life. Few can really match her when it comes to singing disco kind of Bollywood songs. During the early 70s, and perhaps the 80s, this famous pop, jazz and playback singer sang many hit songs, which, sort of, defined the contemporary Hindi cinema. It's really surprising as to how the world failed to notice and appreciate her talent for so long. However, I am happy that she has finally been noticed and given an award for her song 'Darling' from '7 Khoon Maaf'. Though this news is not very fresh, it's encouraging for all music lovers--especially those who are fans of this throaty singer who has a powerful and booming voice. Rambha-ho-ho-ho-ho, Sambha ho-ho-ho-ho...!

I also think that she is a wonderful singer. She has been often ignored and often under-rated perhaps because of her husky voice. She is a great singer and now getting her share of glam.
