I am coming back "home" leaving UK for good and would be in Bihar towards the end of February for a period of about 3 weeks.

Anyone game for a YB members meet up ? I belong to Muzaffarpur but I wouldn't mind coming up to Patna even if there are enough people !

Apart from the usual meet & greet, I have a small plan to start a "Yearly project" in contributing towards the education of young children especially the not so privileged ones.

Just to be clear, at this stage, there is no "financial assistance" obligation from anyone. I just need more people as volunteers to be able to reach out to wider areas which I might not know on my own. Fund raising I am doing separately at the moment. If you can assist towards it - excellent. If you can't at the moment - You are still welcome to the family !

Thanks Dr. Saheb. I will definitely keep in touch. Its a shame I wouldn't be able to come to Norfolk on this occasion but next time you are in India - You are welcome to my humble abode.

We must keep in touch.

not sure about February but i will try my best..

Thanks Shashi jee - Even if you personally can't make it, if you can refer your friends or family who would like to be a part, that would also be a very big help !

I will Rohinijee.. and honestly, regardless of how it goes !

do keep us informed of what you do.

OK - I got some tough questions and I thought I probably needed to put some things straight here which I might have missed originally when I started the discussion -

  • I would like to re iterate - "There is no monetary obligation".. If you can afford something for "Your own people", I salute you and you deserve an applaud.. but please don't expect any special treatment from others who might not be in a position to help monetarily but are helping otherwise through other means..
  • This would be on the model of a "Non profit Organization" and I or any one else associated with it will not get any money from the funds raised for the purpose. So, be sure you understand this very very well.
  • Expect a lot of hardship and little support from government (but that is exactly the challenge) and sign up only if you are OK with this. Whatever it is, we will go through it together - I can promise this.
  • I am in discussions with a certain "creative person" to capture our effort in motion - again not for any other purpose but to reach out to more and more "Biharis" outside Bihar who are in a position to help.
  • Please don't ask too much about my personal life - I have answered all the questions I felt comfortable with in my personal profile page and I have done so honestly. If you think I am doing this for money or profits or for cheating anyone - You are welcome to continue to think that way, I don't necessarily need to explain.
  • Most importantly - If you have any expectations of trying to use this platform for any "political" or any other aspirations other than serving the state - I humbly and politely request you to excuse us.

Anything apart from this - "We can discuss"...

Dear Sumit, first of all, let me say a hearty thanks for trying to do what is needed urgently in Bihar. Now to the core issue: frankly, I may not be able to make it, in person, during February, as I am located elsewhere even as am not very sure what would be the situation with me at that specific time. But, still, I would like to do something sitting here in Delhi. What about writing about your wonderful initiatives and promoting the same aggressively, through various platforms! Please let me know. And, thanks again for 'rising to the occasion'!

Sanjay jee - Thanks a lot for your kind words ; I am humbled. Also, I definitely encourage your idea -  the more people (Including professional writers like yourself) write about these initiatives, the more people would be able to know about the issue and get involved which would serve one of the core purposes ! To let people know about the "joy of giving".. and about how even a handful of people if determined can contribute their best to the society...

But, I would like to be a little cautious about it as well...  I think if we "prove the concept" first and then bring it to the attention of the people, it would be far more effective... I am not afraid of failure.. neither am I afraid of trying something that I believe in.. But, if my failure can de motivate few people who are thinking about something similar - I would rather just keep quiet...

Thanks once again for your kind words.

Unfortunately I am too out of Bihar in the month. But I wish you all the luck. Many of us are doing what we can to help our fellow Biharis in whatever way we can.

Ironic thing is that we are planning to move to the UK very very soon. A Youbihar meet is definitely on the cards some time in the future. It would be the best thing to do.

Rest assured Mr Ranjan that you would succeed as you are trying to do something very positive.
