Permalink Reply by Rohini on July 25, 2012 at 4:46am How can tourism flourish in Bihar when there is no international airport. Patna airport is unfit for the operation of big aircraft such as Airbus 320 and Boeing 737. Forget tourism in bihar.
Permalink Reply by Ragini Bhatiya on August 3, 2012 at 12:15am There is lot of scope in Bihari tourism but the government of Bihar is sleeping and not taking steps to make Bihar tourist friendly.
Permalink Reply by Rohini on August 3, 2012 at 12:52am How can the tourism in bihar develop when there is no international airport and there is no good roads. and crime is rampent in bihar.
yThere can never be tourism in Bihar as in Rajsthan, Kerala, Kashmir, Goa. Foreigners coming to Bihar are pilgrims, visiting holy Buddhist sites. They are mostly from Third World countries. You can not say that Muslims going to Mecca are tourists. Will you ?

Permalink Reply by Barna Ganguli on August 4, 2012 at 2:33pm Bihar can definitely develop tourism as an industry , not only this even some rural sites could be developed and can earn GSDP from rural tourism also but for this the state should take initiative by inviting private sector players so that the sites could be developed on ppp mode . Bihar lags behind in physical infrastructure and to develop tourism as an industry, infrastructure should also be developed.
But all these dreams will only survive only when these politicians and bureaucrats do the needful. Just by writing in newspaper and useless shouting on loudspeakers will lead Bihar towards underdevelopment and nothing else. a state with zero opportunities and silly politics. So if the leaders really want to do something for Bihar , please think on it, just fake words will fetch empty results.
Permalink Reply by Navin Mishra on August 4, 2012 at 2:35pm That's right International Airport is a must, until an unless government doesn't get involved in this sector there is no hope for travel industry to develop in Bihar. I m from the same industry & belive that there is lots of place if presented can attract tourist weather they are from India or Abroad.
Mr. Nitish Kumar is working on the road transportation that should be the first step towards these sectors.
Yaah the International airport must be in near Patna only. Because people need a good hotel and need all facility. And over all Govt doing good giving licence to private operator for running luxury buses in Bihar.
Permalink Reply by Saurabh Anand on August 4, 2012 at 3:08pm hi gr8 to see people discussing on tourism in Bihar let me make this clear Rohini how much do you know about tourism I dont know but all I know is that you are harping about International Airport if that had to boost tourism then a lot of countries whose economy thrive on tourism would not have existed on the tourism map .Fiji & many smaller countries that thrive on tourism dont have a proper infrastructure but still thrive on tourism does so becoz people of those countries pride in what they have and dont cry over things that is not there .I have been associated with this industry for 16 years seen the world around and feel mera bihar has a lot of scope only we dont know how to market it.
rightly said we want a marketing plan to sell the land of Buddha , Mahavir , Gandhi's beginning , J.P 's work place
Permalink Reply by Bikesh Saha on August 4, 2012 at 4:24pm I am glad to visit this social networking of Bihar. My native place is Isuapur, Chapra. Lets make use of its full advantage, meet people in an around, share the things which let our homeground to understand how bad Bihar is lagging behind as compare to other state.
I could see comments above from every corners pointing out politicians, gov, infrastructures n all. Very true we should be but from my point of view I think they are the secondary elements. The first n foremost faulters are the common people of Bihar n not only it is case of Bihar although everywhere in India. India is full of corruption, bureaucracy, terrorism n so on..........What brings all these things the answer is 'selfish' I cannot talk about the leadership, revolutionaries who let India brings into Independence from Britishers. The people should think, yes the common people the people of India, the people of all states. If we think that yes 'We Can Change" then for sure no one can stop anyone to change the system, 'I' 'ME' 'SELF' have many power & when the people understands the power of it then no one yes no one let it to not happen. After all we the people of India have the right to own as per Indian constituency is concern. I don't know when the common people of Bihar can understand the importance of his/her OWN. First of all they have to change of their own. Be open to RISE RISE n just RISE.
I am giving one example of movie called 'FALTU'. In the movie they have shown the low percentile student donot get admission anywhere so they search one colg called FALTU in the net. But finally as n when they come to know that the colg is not approved; fake then they decided to run the colg by their own. So just think what is not possible. IMPOSSIBLE have a meaning of itself - IM POSSIBLE.
So last but not the least I am switching off & leaving to the COMMON people of BIHAR with one quote - "TIME TO COME TO RISE" lets spread all over if we want to see BIHAR a prosperous, develop & valued state.
