We all know that Siddhartha Gautama was from Lumbini which is now in Nepal but in 500 B.C. it was probably part of India. But when he left his palace (yes he was a prince) for some answers to life's questions, he wandered around Rajgir and Bodh Gaya. In fact, it was under the peepal tree which is now known as the Bodhi tree that he found enlightenment. It was here that he discovered the causes of sufferings and ways to get out of it.
